Accuracy & sources

We work to keep nutrition information aligned with recognised sources, including the National Research Council (NRC) Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats, AAFCO Dog & Cat Food Nutrient Profiles, WSAVA Global Nutrition Guidelines, and FEDIAF Nutritional Guidelines. Calorie estimates use the standard Resting and Maintenance Energy Requirement (RER / MER) formulas. Despite this, formulas are population averages — individual pets vary, food labels change, and product reformulations happen without notice. If you spot something that looks wrong, please tell us so we can correct it.

Product claims

References to specific pet foods, supplements, and gear are editorial commentary, not medical or therapeutic claims. The Ask a Nutritionist chat is powered by a large language model. Responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. They do not represent the opinion of a licensed veterinarian and must not be used to diagnose, treat, or make medical decisions for your pet. Do not share information you consider private — chats are stored to your account so you can return to them later.

Billing

Bowlful is currently free to use. We do not sell paid meal plans or subscriptions, we do not take payments, and no pricing has been set. If we introduce paid features in the future, the price, billing interval and cancellation terms will be published before you are asked to pay, and nothing will be charged without your express consent.
